Description:

This was a small, double-cone shaped satellite, 0.53 m in diameter. It was France's first satellite and launched by a French launch vehicle, making France the third nation to successfully launch a satellite with its own launch vehicle. The payload was primarily for the purpose of monitoring the launch performance. Due to antenna damage, no data transmissions were received.
